Hi, my name is Marcus Cyganiak and I would like to personally welcome each and every one of you to the BuyRIC.com Developers Blog. Come 2010, it will be eight years since I began my journey as an active web and graphic developer. The great thing about this claim is that I began this journey as a hobby and I continue this journey in the workforce, still a hobby, so it doesn’t get any better than that!
What you will be coming to find here at the BuyRIC.com Developers Blog is really a wide array of information, from company releases, current web developments in the works, future web projects on the horizon, service updates, usability of our website, and really just a lot of extended information about the functionality, purpose, and mission of BuyRIC.com. You’re also going to be able to interact directly with us here, as I like to label “behind-the-scenes.” I also really want to include web and computer tutorials because I think it’s important to indulge everyone on the usability of current technological trends.
I believe that when more people are in the know with new media developments, the better off it is for everyone in this industry and that’s not just for BuyRIC.com, it’s for every business online, including yourself. So for something like Twitter, if you have no clue what that social network is meant for, you’re most likely not going to touch it. If you do try it out, you may send a “tweet” or two in your first month, but then you’re gone after that. When I see that, I think that’s a missed opportunity for that individual because he or she is missing out on the evolutionary way of collecting sourced information most relevant to themselves personally.
The tutorials here will not just be of relation to networks like Twitter. I also want to provide you with lessons on how to use Apple Mac computers, because I think a lot of PC users misconceive the power behind Mac computers. Also in my plans are application tutorials for such programs like Adobe Photoshop CS4, Adobe Dreamweaver CS4, iWorks, iPhoto, iTunes, and so forth. Anything relating to technology has the potential of being covered here.
The only place to read and watch (because I will be doing video blogs and screencasts as well) will of course be right here at the BuyRIC.com Developers Blog. This area will remain as a sub-site to the main BuyRIC.com website, meaning no content here will be featured on the main section of the website, and vice versa. Everything seen here is exclusive to the Developers Blog.
For the time being, you will predominately be seeing me as the lonesome blogger here. My father Kris and I both founded BuyRIC.com, and while he’s been the driving force on the direction of BuyRIC.com in the early going, I’ve been the guy adding to that creative direction as the head developer of the website. He doesn’t have any past experience as a web developer, but he has years of experience in other regards like business, sales, marketing, property ownership, photography, and so forth. So we each fill the gaps needed to launch BuyRIC.com on December 1, 2009.
Till then, check back here at the Developers Blog for more updates as we approach our launch party!
